You like your own race. Everyone has a great story to tell which moves the book along to its finale.

You can’t really read him for plot, more for the terrx symbolism and quiet prose of his writing. If you’re looking for something a little different, something both strange and profound, give Sleepwalking Land a try. I prefer this book to either of those. Together, they travel down a road that had been abandoned and encounter many signs of the war including a burnt bus and many corpses along the side of the road. Beautiful and very original recreation of the Portuguese language.
